About us
'Dirty Lips play catchy tunes with nice harmonies that give them a Beatles feel, they are competent musicians who can write a good pop song.' - Sandman Magazine February 2007.
"The Dirty Lip's upbeat and cheery tunes are a breath of fresh air, which makes it hard to find anything not to like about these guys." - The Mag, March 2007
The band is based in North Notts and consists of guitarist and lead vocalist James Foy, bass and backing vocalist Richard Lowe, rhythm guitarist Jamie Wales and drummer Paul Exton.
In October 2006 the Dirty Lips recorded a five track demo at Sheffield's '2 Fly' Studios with Arctic Monkeys demo producer Alan Smyth.
The band has been regularly gigging around the country at venues including The Social in Nottingham and The Cavern in Liverpool.
The song "Last Chance Saloon" is now receiving regular plays on BBC Radio Sheffield and a music video is to be filmed over the coming months with the help of Sheffield Hallam University students.
In April 2007 the band reached the last 20 of AKG's National Unsigned Bands competition finishing 4th in a public vote off, the competition had more than 800 entries from bands nationwide.
The band is currently working on new material and a new recording will be made in the coming months.
