About us
Yusuf B'layachi's distinctive narrative driven lyrics capture personal accounts of big events, driving Dear Thief's sound away from the stale state of affairs that has been known to plague the current London scene.
Openly referencing influences from Captain Beefheart, John Coltrane, The Fall, The Pixies, Talkingheads, Chris Leo, Jonathan Richman and Shellac, the Dear Thief sound captures the essence of these artists who aspired to produce new sounds, rather than sound only slightly different to the band who was on the bill before them, with the same hairstyles as the band who are coming on next.
