About us

CB6 first formed in 2002, and over a short period of time of just 5 years, progressed immensely beyond the member’s tender ages.
At the start of 2006, CB6 decided to start gigging, and after a few small gigs at the ship in Leigh and such places, a friend of the band (El Stanton) arranged for them to play an open mic night at a local bar called Reds, organized by his cousin Will Bray. That first meeting set the band on a whirlwind of gigs and many solid friendships along the way. They became renowned for there “Tight brand of melodic, thrash metal” and, at their young age, drew quite a lot of attention in their local area of Southend.

“Fundamentally, this is a metal band. The best quality about these songs being the guitar work. There is a good combo of drums with the guitars which works well, and I’d have to say that there's just the right amount of vocals."

"Let's get one thing perfectly clear- this is not your average local gig. For a start the band are only 16 and the audience are genuinely here because they want to see them. It could be that news travels far and wide in a relatively small town, or it is just they are that damn good. Having heard of CB6 last year through a drunken chap on the last train home on a Saturday night in October, I was expecting good things. Of course, what I was not expecting, was four 16 year old kids, who look like they are out of the 2005 film 'Lords of Dogtown' to play one of the best gigs I have ever seen, and that includes all festivals. They are a heavy-metal band with the power and fury of Pantera and speed of Slayer, and the talent of both bands wrapped up. This is of course pretty depressing, as like I said, they are only 16- and far more talented than many, many people. If you were to look at them before the show there is no way you'd expect to hear such a vicious and deep voice in the young singer and you'd probably expect the two guitarists to pick away at a Foo Fighters tunes! Always expect something different when it comes to music, as these two teenagers pissed all over any preconceptions and by the time the first song is over you've forgotten that they have two years before they can order a beer. The crowd is not just a metal crowd- most of which would usually be seen rocking the first Libertines album, rather then the Led Zeppelin back catalogue. Everybody is won over. Which leads us to the drummer. What can you say about a kid who rips through Zeppelin's 'Moby Dick', kicks out a long drum solo and then beats out a near perfect version of the original? See these guys now while they are still in Leigh on Sea, as in a few years they will be swimming in pussy, booze and hungry AR men." - Review by Greg Kingcott
