About us
British Standard are a stompin indie/funk 3 piece from Clacton, with Frontman and Guitarist Matt Wye, Bassist Rob Norris and Phil Johnson on Drums. The band (formed December 2006) have just released their debut E.P "Scoundrel" which is available from Brevan Records ,Virgin Megastores, Music Mania, 7Digital and many other good independant record stores.
The band are currently performing their live set of Indie/Funk original tunes around the Essex and London circuit. New songs and pictures will be updated from time to time and a gig list will be updated on a monthly basis. Thanks for checking out our page .................. 'GoodMornin'
"In truth British Standard have a rather fetching streak of decidedly un-British americana about their sound. A little shake of Sub-Pop, a twist of Pearl Jam and the plate loaded with classic British indie. To define British Standard is more difficult than it may at first seem. Initial instincts are to hear that Brit-rock indie sound, but British Standard are well soaked in Jack Daniels too!" Fuse Mag Review Nov 07
