AYOWEFF intend to prove music isn’t about hairstyles and fashion trends, but about creating something special, meaningful and important. With our debut E.P "In Masks We Part", we have rewritten the conventions and instead of writing short, empty pop songs, we have written extensive and emotional opuses, blending together dark and powerful songs, cascading through a multitude of moods and themes. Taking influence from alternative and progressive rock acts such as Tool, Biffy Clyro, Incubus and Radiohead; AYOWEFF produce a loud, eclectic sound created with smooth, textured baselines, fast paced effect-laden guitars, strong, intricate drums and vocal harmonies with unyielding, unflinching lyrics. With songs covering subjects such as coping with the loss of a loved one, relationships, blissful ignorance and giving up as well as life and its struggles in general, there is nothing that someone can't relate to. With this, added to our accessible melodies, distinct writing and balanced arrangements, we make "progressive, aggressive and melancholy" music. When listening to our band you feel a true epic spirit that makes us truly stand alone.
The standout track "Paper Heroes" demonstrates our writing talent perfectly. It presents a soft to loud transition, blended together with tempo and rapid mood changes and a strong chorus with deep, immortal lyrics; this epic piece leaves its listeners covered in goose bumps. The E.P itself is completely produced/recorded by AYOWEFF, which serves to demonstrate our independence and growing passion to share our music with the world, even if we have to go it alone. Since the forming of AYOWEFF, we have continued to write extensively and have performed relentlessly throughout the North West; mixing up our set with both original material and cover songs such as Just by Radiohead, Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World and two Biffy Clyro numbers.
We have received cheers and praise from crowds in Leeds, Keighley, Burnley, Preston and Manchester, gaining respect from fans and bands alike. AYOWEFF have been compared to many bands ranging in styles and genre, such as Oceansize, Jimmy Eat World, Tool and Biffy Clyro. We have proved time and again that AYOWEFF are for music lovers looking for something different, something to hold on to, and something to blow them away...
