About us

Who are Annfrancisco?

"It's exciting times and were basically just about to change gears and turn on the headlights" says lead singer of Annfrancisco Tim Jones. Brought up on a dose of The pixies, The Smiths and references to the Jam, Anfancisco have created a new sound compromising of modern day Indie rock mixed with the sounds of the late 80's and 90's.

"It's not been something we've tried to do on purpose, it's just naturally developed that way. It's came about without thinking or trying to be anybody, it's our sound and it's our style" adds bassist Jonathan Cosgrove.

The three piece includes Tim Jones providing the voice to the modern day anthems which Anfansisco have become widely respected for. Along with his well publicised guitar riffs and customized rhythm playing he provides the building block on which the foundation of the band is built. Drummer Steve Woods creates the consistent stability and helps push the band through every roaring chorus with his heavy crashes and noticeable fills. Jonathan Cosgrove helps groove and hold the music together with his distinguished playing and thumping baselines which provide the backdrop for rest of the band to create the style you hear today. With Jonathan joining the other two band members in 2007 the band quickly realised the internal chemistry they created by playing off one another. They quickly started penning songs and writing material later that year. These sessions resulted in their first self titled EP "Annfrancisco" which is set for release in mid 2008. Notable tracks include Susan's Game and Holiday which define their modern style and provide reasons as to why they could very much be the slow burning success story of 2008. The band have played their live shows throughout the North West of England and have captured the attention of audiences at venues such as The Roadhouse, The Venue and The Vaults. "You can see how the songs have developed when we play live, how they've been brought to life and how they've changed from just chords and lyrics to the fully developed songs which you can hear on the record, " comments Steve. Don't worry if you haven't heard of these guys, you will soon...
