About us

Alan Davison

Originally from Belfast Alan moved to Edinburgh in June ‘98 to work with a band with industry interest. By 2002 he was gigging regularly around Edinburgh to encouraging responses. Then after playing a set to a packed Edinburgh Princes Street gardens on the festival stage in 2003 and the beginnings of a band called Underbelly (www.myspace.com/underbellymusic) the profile began to gather weight.

Alan's first solo single ‘I’m Glad You Talked Me Round’, recorded in March '05, was intended to be a simple production to sell at gigs but there were celebrations when it was selected in the final 48 band line-up out of 800 entries in Scotland for the T in the Park unsigned competition ‘T-Break’. In May 2006 it was Underbelly’s turn playing T-Break as the band were selected out of a record 1,000 entries from bands Scotland-wide.

For te 2nd solo EP outing, ‘twenty_fifteen’, Alan gathered together a 30-strong choir for the an extended section of ‘Superhero’ (which recently flew past 1500 hits on MySpace). An amazing and eager list of local Edinburgh musicians gathered for the recording marking the first of many major collaborations with other local bands in Edinburgh, and beyond. Alan’s’ Identity Parade’ showcase (www.myspace.com/idparade) will also play a major part in putting this together as plans are being made to record an album in a 'Reindeer Section' stylee followed by a number of gigs later this year showcasing some of the finest talent in the city.

“...Alan Davison’s ability to crowd-please on demand, ably backed by Underbelly, he took us through a selection of rock belters in true troubadour fashion. His voice warmed up as the set progressed and by the end we saw the strongest lyrical rock of the night...”
