About us
Biography
AC Berkheimer is a Rotterdam, the Netherlands, based quartet formed in mid 2005. You could say they're a shoegaze version of The Organ and Ladytron or maybe Electrelane meets My Bloody Valentine with the poppy side of Sonic Youth/Zoppo/Polvo or M83 without electronics.
According to Incendiarymag, com they would be Amsterdams darlings if they hadn't been Dutch..but they are..so with a fanbase outside the Netherlands growing rapidly its time to focus on the rest of Europe.
The band released a 4-track demo in April 2006 and started performing live. They played Vera, Bitterzoet, Waterfront, 't Paard, Rotown and were invited to perform at The Music In My Head festival and the ZXZW festival. In the spring of 2007 AC Berkheimer was 'Hollandse Nieuwe' at VPRO's 3voor12.nl and the band teamed up with producer Corno Zwetsloot to create a first full length album.
In May 2008 they were signed by a small independent record label, Subroutine and their debut album ‘In a series of long days’ saw the light of day in June 2005. It was presented in an almost sold out Rotown, Rotterdam.
In a series of long days is in stores now or can be ordered through www.subroutine.nl.
