About us

67 Riots - Biography

We are 67 Riots and we formed in late 2004. After a substantial change to our line-up we are currently writing new material with a fresh sound and a new found enthusiasm. We have recently recorded 3 tracks, and are booked in to record a further 4 tracks by the end for May. We are in talks with several venues in and around Hull and are playing at Linnet and Larks “The Sesh” on June 5th. We have an ever growing fan base and we always manage to turn heads wherever we play.

History

We originally formed under the name Epiblast, and for about a year and a half focused on covering popular songs from the time such as Green Day’s “American Idiot”, Foo Fighter’s “Everlong” and Black Eyed Peas “Pump it”. At this time the band was a five piece playing in small venues and schools around Beverley and the surrounding area for charities such as Yorkshire Breast Cancer and Make Poverty History. During this time two of our own songs came together in the form of “Traffic” and “So what’s he said”.

However in summer of 2006 the band was split into to two as Fran, our rhythm guitar, and Ross, our bassist, sought the bright lights of Preston and Durham to attend university, while Michael W, Michael B and James (lead guitarist, vocalist, and drummer) remained in Beverley.

At this point the remaining three went in search of a new bassist, after deciding that as a band we did not require a second guitarist. After a few months of searching we stumbled across Michael H, a friend of ours from a few school years below. He brought with him a new energy and enthusiasm to the band, and since he joined us in October 2006, we have changed our name, written five new songs, had a recording session with a local sound engineer, been interviewed by an internet pod cast radio show, and have worked our way on to the bill at Hull’s weekly music event, “The Sesh.”

The Future

As a band we are very passionate about music and particularly writing fresh, original and inspiring music. We love performing live and aspire to tour the country and one day the world. Before we can achieve this we need to get noticed by playing more gigs in our local area and distributing our Demo tracks so we can get heard.
